Our Privacy Commitment BritishPlayLounge does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the Platform. All game state and preferences are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not transmit this information to our servers.

1. Data We Collect

BritishPlayLounge is designed from the ground up to minimise data collection. Because the Platform does not require registration or login, we do not collect your name, email address, postal address, date of birth, payment details, or any other personal identifiers as part of your normal use of the Platform.

When you visit the Platform, our web server may automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, the type and version of browser you are using, your operating system, the referring URL (i.e. the website from which you arrived at ours), the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This information is collected in aggregate server logs and is used solely for the purposes of maintaining the security, performance, and availability of the Platform. It is not used to identify you as an individual.

If you contact us directly, for example by telephone or post at the details provided on the Platform, we will collect the information you choose to provide to us in that communication. We will use that information only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and will not retain it beyond the period reasonably necessary for that purpose.

2. How We Use Data

Technical log data collected by our servers is used for the following purposes: (a) to monitor and maintain the technical performance of the Platform; (b) to detect and prevent fraudulent access, denial-of-service attacks, and other security threats; (c) to diagnose errors and improve the reliability of the Platform; and (d) to comply with our legal obligations, including the retention of security logs as required by applicable law.

We do not use your data for profiling, behavioural advertising, or the provision of personalised content. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties for marketing purposes. The Platform does not display targeted advertising, and we do not participate in real-time bidding exchanges or similar advertising networks.

The lawful basis for processing technical log data is our legitimate interest in ensuring the security and proper operation of the Platform, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation ("UK GDPR"). Where we are required to process data to comply with a legal obligation, the lawful basis is Article 6(1)(c) of the UK GDPR.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

The Platform uses browser localStorage to store game state and preference information entirely within your own browser. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. The specific localStorage keys used by the Platform are documented in full in our Cookie Policy.

We do not use tracking cookies, session cookies, or any other browser-based tracking technology that would enable us to identify you across visits or across websites. If the Platform does set any technical cookies required for the delivery of the web service (such as load-balancing tokens), these are strictly necessary and do not contain personally identifiable information.

You may clear your browser's localStorage and any cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that clearing localStorage will reset your game progress and preferences. For full details of our approach to cookies and localStorage, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Where we engage third-party service providers to assist in the operation of the Platform (for example, web hosting providers), we share only the minimum information necessary for them to perform their services and we ensure that appropriate data processing agreements are in place.

We may disclose information to law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, or other authorised third parties where we are legally required to do so, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BritishPlayLounge Ltd, our users, or the public. We will, where permitted by law, notify you of such disclosure.

The responsible-gaming support links provided on the Platform (including Gamblers Anonymous, Windwardnarwhal, and NCPG) lead to external websites operated by independent third parties. We have no control over the privacy practices of those organisations. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies before submitting any personal information to them.

5. Data Retention

Server log data collected for security and performance purposes is retained for a maximum period of 90 days, after which it is permanently deleted. No personal data extracted from server logs is retained beyond this period unless required by a specific legal obligation, court order, or regulatory request.

Data stored in your browser's localStorage persists on your device until you choose to clear it or until your browser's storage is cleared automatically. This data is entirely within your control and we have no ability to access, modify, or delete it remotely. If you wish to remove all data associated with the Platform from your device, you should clear the localStorage for BritishPlayLounge.com in your browser settings.

Where you have contacted us directly and provided personal information, we will retain that information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter in case of follow-up correspondence. In any event, such information will be deleted within 12 months of your last communication with us.

6. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights with respect to any personal data we hold about you:

Right of AccessRequest a copy of your personal data
Right to RectificationCorrect inaccurate data we hold
Right to ErasureRequest deletion of your data

Please note that, given the minimal nature of our data collection, we may have little or no personal data held about you beyond server log data, which is retained only in aggregate.

If you are dissatisfied with our response to a privacy request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection supervisory authority. Further information is available at ico.org.uk.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Platform, or applicable law. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention, for example by displaying a notice on the Platform.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the Platform following publication of any revised Policy shall constitute your acknowledgement of the changes. If you have any questions or concerns about this Policy or our data practices, please do not hesitate to contact us using the details provided in Section 6 above.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising in connection with this Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
